Mars Williams
Mars Williams could not, by any means be considered a one band man. Although best known in the rock world for being in the Waitresses he also played with Psychedelic Furs (with whom he played on three albums and toured extensively), Billy Idol & the Power Station. He also played on the Fred Frith LP "speechless" in 1981. Now based in Chicago Mars Williams playes with a variety of bands mainly with a basis in jazz also embracing a number of styles from the avant garde NRG Ensemble to the acid jazz Liquid Soul. Other bands that have at some time been enhanced by Mars Williams playing include Witches and Devils, Vandermark 5, Cinghiale, Slam, Bill Laswells's Massacre, Crown Royals, Die Warzau, The Sun Ra Project and Ministry.
