I knew someone on the web would have a Waitresses site. One of the best bands ever! I was just listening to 'Go On' so I could type out the lyrics to someone who had asked me why good girls like bad boys. It's never been answered better than in that song. I saw them once here in Brooklyn, in a free concert in Prospect Park. It was the late 80s already - they weren't together anymore, really. But it was a fabulous concert. Lots of energy and fun. Everyone I've ever introduced to The Waitresses has loved them. I miss them. Is 'Wasn't Tomorrow Wonderful' available on a CD there? My cassette won't last forever. All I could find here is The Best of ... cd, which is good, but it doesn't have some of my faves. Well, keep developing the page, and if you want to put up the lyrics and don't have them in some scannable or digital form, I can send you the words to 'Go On'. :) BTW, I know someone from Stevenage, but as he thinks I'm crazy, I won't ask if you know him. :) Liorah

I really dug your site, as I think the Waitresses are an unfairly neglected group in the States. I do a fanzine all about Xmas, and this year we're featuring an interview with Chris Butler and a tribute to Patty, centering around 'Christmas Wrapping.' Do you know if there was ever a picture sleeve version of this single? I'd love to reproduce the art in the zine. Kurt B. Reighley ageing boy journalist

This song has always been one of my favorite pop christman songs. It's cool when you find others that like the song too. Well, Merry Christmas, Merry Chirstmas! Dan

Hi! Thanks for the site. I just discovered the Waitresses with Christmas Wrapping on the radio, and I searched High and Low til I found a copy, even though this guy told me I'd never find it on CD. I did. HA! In his face, eh? Nothing makes me happier than cool 80's music. Anyway. That's my story. Thanks for the lyrics to Christmas Wrapping. I'll come back for more.

FYI: Christmas Wrapping was recently listed at no. 10 of the list of the 50 best Christmas records of all time in the North American weekly magazine Entertainment Weekly as determined by one of their writers. Bing Crosby's White Christmas was no. 1 on the list. Christmas Wrapping is a great song and my favorite holiday tune of all time. Any idea what the other tracks/artists were on the 1981 album A Christmas Record, the album that Christmas Wrapping first appear on? Just curious.

I saw Waitresses in Dover NJ in early 80s at the ShowPlace...Patty had a room of 400 having one helluva good time...band was tight and it was a good pre-Xmas party. Thanks Patty, Chris and everyone else...Xmas wouldn't be same with Xmas Wrapping... Merry Christmas...Couldn't miss this one this year!

I am listening to Christmas Wrapping right now while I am typing a report-final in one of my classes at Indiana University of Pennsylvania. I decided to take a break and find out where this song came from. When I was little I remember hearing this song around Christmastime. Now whenever I hear it, I feel like I'm seven years old in the back seat of my dads car. I really don't know who this is going to but I thought I share the story, cause it is my favorite hol-i-day.

I just recently bought 'Tube Toons' Vol. 3, and was blown away by the Square Pegs theme. I really didn't pay much attention to the show when it was on--I was only about 12 and had better things to do. Anyway 'I Know What Boys Like' was always one of my favorite 80's tunes, so I bought the 'Best Of' and the King Biscuit disk. What a great band--and I love Patty's voice. Since I listen to the Pegs theme probably 5 or 6 times a day, I would love to see the lyrics. It was the reason I visited your site! Oh well, I'm still really impressed by your site, and keep up the good work! If someone could send any lyrics they can decipher from it, maybe we could piece it together!

And I graduated in a white gown just like the one on the record! So sorry to hear of her passing. I still know all the words to Christmas Wrapping and Pussy Strut and I can't believe it's been 15+ years since those songs were brand new and only played on college radio stations (in boring Cleveland anyway). Bands like the Waitresses were more fun than a million Rock Halls of Fame (yuck)!

Just letting you know I appreciate your putting a Waitresses page together, and how comfortable I've been while visiting. Me? SImply a lifelong fan of the band (never saw them live, alas) who used to play their albums endlessly as a college and community radio DJ. Now I do music and theater journalism and reference Waitresses/ Butler whenever possible as perhaps the greatest band of the 1980s, and a missing link in the development of conceptual rock theater (a phrase I'd put sarcastically in quotes except I've been warned not to use quotation marks) in the 1970s-80s. Your scholarship here is valuable and thank you for it. Are there any fans of the Scottish pop band the Pastels who frequent this Waitresses site? I wouldn't be surprised.

I remember sitting at the bar of the old Peppermint Lounge (off Times Square) around nine o'clock, and talking to Patty. The show starts at midnight and I can't stick around, work the next day. She said I should stay and see the show, but I couldn't, didn't have enough money to keep drinking until then. Now I wish I had seen the show.

Although I've never seen the show, a friend relates that it was a) new wave high school 'radical' striped tube sox blue hair '80s glamour at its most punk-ass b) the greatest. It also starred Peggy Lipton (Norma Jennings from Twin Peaks) -- anyone catch it, perhaps even have episodes on tape? ...Suspended? Suspended for what?

Great site! I am so glad to see that someone else loves them. I think they had some of the best, most biting, witty, smartass, truthful lyrics of all time and they still remain just as true and hold up today. I was so sorry when Patty died and felt very alone because most people were like 'who?' I had to go thru the standard rigmarole of 'I Know What Boys Like', 'Square Pegs', etc before anyone showed any signs of recognition. I only heard about her dying by accident--I happened to be reading a Time magazine in a waiting room, and even that covered it three weeks after the fact. So I think it's really great this site is here. Keep up the good work & e-mail me w/any updates!

Hey guys! If any of you diehards out there get a chance, check out Alice Cooper's 1982 album 'Zipper Catches Skin.' The track 'I Like Girls' was recorded with none other than Patty Donahue! In the song, Cooper plays a philandering boyfriend...Donahue is his nagging interrogative girlfriend. He even refers to her as 'Patty' in the lyrics. Interesting find. I don't know if anybody else has heard about this yet! Let me know!

I fell in love with the band after that and managed to find Bruiseology at another local 2nd hand shop. I picked up the King Biscuit cd on a trip to America and was quite upset to hear of Patty's death. I remain the only person I know who likes, or even knows The Waitresses. A special Merry Christmas to Chris Butler. Thanks for your email earlier this year. We'll always remember Patty. I turned more people on to Christmas Wrapping this year at a medical trade show called RSNA that takes place in Chicago the first week of December every year. The newbies now think this is the best christmas song ever. Dan

I'm excited to see not only a website for the Waitresses, but alot of fans too! It's a shame they never hit it big. The death of Patty saddened me for it meant no reunion album/tour. However, they will live on. The Spice Girls covered Xmas Wrapping and I am sure it will encourage more people to track down the original. The Girls changed some lyrics to fit the British terminology. I am looking to see why the Spices covered it, as I am sure they liked Patty's brand of Girl Power! I wish I had a bigger contribution to make your site, however, just keep up the good work!

I had never heard of the group until today. Having heard 'Christmas Wrapping' on Virgin Radio the other day here in the UK (although I didn`t catch the name!) I was lucky enough to have it play straight away as I placed a Christmas Compilation tape in my player. If anyone knows where I can get more info on the band, and especially MP3s, please contact me. Am I right in thinking the lead singer died of lung cancer, and if so, was this the singer on Xmas Wrapping? Thanks Mark

How cool to find a Waitresses fan site. Yes, some of us still listen to this wonderful band on a regular basis. The first album remains on my top ten all-time list, where it has been since its release. It's a darn shame it isn't available in its entirety on CD - unless there's an import version out there somewhere. Anyway, I enjoyed the web site, but was sorry to see the link to Chris Butler's web site didn't seem to work, I've been trying to find a way to order his solo work.

Saw the Waitresses in the early '80's in Bayside, Queens (!) NY - great, fun show. What an inventive, literate and unique band they were. I too had seen a brief reference to Patty's death and never could find out the cause until I found this site. Very sad. The band made quite an impression, and still outshines 99% of what's out there today.

I like the site too. It is a shame you can't find any of their work on CD apart from the Greatest Hits CD and the live album. The tapes are hard enough to find. Anyone know the lyrics to The Smartest Person I Know or any of the other songs off the second album?

Thanks for the response. For the record, I forgot that I Could Rule the World If I Could Only Get the Parts was only an EP, thus making Bruiseology the true second album. I apologize if my mistake put you to any extra trouble. I'm also sorry for not saying anything about Ms. Donahue's death. I had heard of her passing long before I encountered your web site, but it is still a poignant event to ponder--especially when one considers how many other musical personalities commonly associated with the Christmas season--John Lennon being the most obvious example--have also passed away. I never had the opportunity to meet her, but I would like to think that she would appreciate this web site as much as I do. Thanks again.

Awesome web site, the band deserves it. Is anyone aware of a recent remake of 'X-mas Wrapping' that included lyrics about the Jewish holiday Channukah? The lyrics suggest that the writer came from West Los Angeles. I am not sure whether the re-make was by the Waitresses or some other band. Please help me track this release down. Also, what is A&P?

Very nice site. I was in college in the early eighties. I interviewed the band when they played in Philadelphia in 1982. They were wonderful that night. Six months later they played Pittsburgh and the performance was strangely lackluster. Shortly after that they went to the UK to record 'Bruiseology' and that was pretty much that. Your page brought back some great memories for me. Keep up the good work!

I've not been a tremendously huge Waitresses fan, I must admit -- in 1994 I got into only I Know What Boys Like & Christmas Wrapping without delving further, and in 1996, at the urging of the tremendously hilarious Robert Christgau '80s record guide I purchased Wasn't Tomorrow Wonderful? after seeing it in a used records store. Then I found out that one of the Waitresses had passed on, and I'm shocked and saddened it was Patty Donahue. Their legend does live on, though...I found out the Spice Girls did a cover of Christmas Wrapping last year.

I was a fan of the Waitresses before I saw them, but when I had the chance to see them live in NYC new years eve'83 at the Peppermint Lounge (Dez Dickerson opening)I jumped on it. And boy whatta show, I was at the front of the stage and Patty was blatently flirting with this young buck of 18 at the time, so much so that my friend told me Tim she wants you! I even handed her earring to her when it fell off during the show and she just gave me the sweetest look. I even grabbed the song list from that show but unfortunately I've misplaced it since then. Flash forward 6 months and Patty and boys are in town (Buffalo) for a gig at the legendary punk mecca Continental. I was obviously anxious to see this show to see if Patty remembered me from 6 months previous. Sad to say she didn't the damn tease! RIP Patty

I'm happy to see a Waitresses website! I used to know them all back when they started in NYC. Patty showed up one day dressed in a black t shirt and black jeans and carrying a small suitcase that looked like it belonged to a teenager. I went to lots of their shows in the city and other towns and recorded quite a few as well. Patty ended up being one of my best friends in Manhattan and I wish she was still around - those were favorite days back in the 1980's. And I still think she should have recorded a version of 'My Boyfriend's Back' 'cause she had the perfect voice for it.

Hundreds of years ago my roomate and I got talked into sharing our tiny lopsided flat with a singer coming to New York from Cleveland. It'll only be a few weeks our friend Chris said. The three of us became the dearest of friends and the two weeks became, was it 5 years?Patty was 3-D,part pussycat part hellcat, the Queen of the snappy retort, dazzeling, tough, extemely funny and much more vulnerable than she let on. She became a typical New Yorker declaring a deep hatred for the city while enjoying its marvels. She had a love hate relationship with her fame as well never quite seeing rockstar as a legitamate inclusion on a resume. That's not to say she didn't work very hard at her Waitressing...We remained very close all these years, When she called from that same apt. to tell me of the diagnosis she was elated. At last she could get some workmens comp and stop working! It never occured to her that cancer could actually overwhelm her and although it threw her some wicked punches she remained optomistic, strong, charming, and terribly funny until the end. She had many, many loyal friends and I realise now, fans and I have little doubt she'd be charmed and amused by the kind notices posted on this site.

Why do you characterize Pattys' story as being the saddest story (no quotes to deter your bug).Strong wills and desire for different directions, fatigue with so much togetherness, etc.implode many joint efforts. Is this sad? Is it a tradgedy? The W's had their place in time, Patty knew that from the get go. No regrets....

Patty, some history to fill in, and some more.... Message posted on: 10/09/99 01:11:40 by Bill Lynch of New York City  USA E-mail
Rereading some comments, bios of the band and Chris Butler's liner notes brought a lot back further....I was friends with Patty, Billy, Dan, Ariel Warner (original co-singer with Patty) and other friends of theirs who were in The Raybeats, The Swollen Monkeys (an offshoot band of Mars Williams and Dan Klayman) and The Holy Sheets (A Mars-was-in-it-also band), it was the era of this one's in that band and also that band with that other one as well. Patty left the band after a while. I saw them from the beginning, missed the Holly Beth Vincent period, was always recording them live or off of the radio - I have a New Years Eve show available now on Ebay actually. But those shows were the very best - I remember Patty relaxing before an early show at Danceteria. We were having a drink, and it dawned on me that she was suddenly, uh, kinda famous in a way. People were coming up to her, shyly, to talk. And it got to me...I felt awkward talking to her at that moment, like maybe she had some record business person she should talk to or a fan or something. But Patty didn't put up with that, she just said, 'Oh, forget it, will ya!?' And we proceeded to have a great time and she and the band gave a fantastic performance as usual. The best times were the early days of the band, playing at the original Peppermint Lounge in Times Square, loading out equipment at 3 am after they played their assses off and my sister and I and our friends danced our asses off with the crowd. A while after, the band broke up and she was without a gig. Though she and Jimmy Ridao, Billy Ficca and another guy, tried one last attempt with the band, the time was over for it. She had the name, she was the band but that original lineup and that early energy were what people loved. Touring one last time she told me how so many of the kids in the audiences on some nights were really with it and having a great time but other nights just stone stupid and out of it. I dunno if the road was getting to her, certain crowds or the ending of what had been a great band but after that it all folded and what she had were a few mementos, debt, and a famous name. She sang on a few albums with various people, Alice Cooper, etc., worked with Steve Jordan and I think Fernando Saunders trying to get something else going. It was around that time, I think, that I was talking to a friend of mine who worked in The Political Unit of ABC News who was saying she was looking for someone who could act as an assistant some big wig in the Polling Unit. Bingo! I thought of Patty. I'd worked at ABC for years and kinda hated to curse her with a gig in a big Network but it paid the rent. She ran with it and practically took over the place. She got all of their files organized, drank too much coffee, made friends with everybody and enemies with the ones that counted, would show up for work in some of the wildest outfits (far from par for the Ladder Climbing / Corporate News hounds) and would spin around the place, caterwauling and careering with the best of them. Once she told me she was talking with the head of Polling about Exit Polling and the accuracy of people's responses to how they voted. 'But how can you prove these numbers...I mean, people lie, don't they?' The guy refused to accept common sense, something Patty was chock full of anyway. Patty always giggled about that one. We saw The Gang of Four at Pier 84 in Manhattan when she'd had a long time crush on Dave Allen, I was taping the show (with two recorders), and we kept yelling, 'Where's Dave?' cause he was somewhere else then. There was a time before when the Waitresses were touring England and this other band was there and this cute guy (she said) offered to carry her bags...she was happy to have the help and liked the guy but then when she found out he was Dave Allen of Gang of Four she said, 'Jeez, I shoulda been carrying HIS bags!' Anyway, Patty worked at ABC News for quite a while and later she met Carl Marsh who used to be in Shriekback, a band started by....Dave Allen. When they first played the US, NYC in 1983, they came over to her place, we all went to see em at Danceteria (I taped that show and others later), listened to their album, 'Tench' which was out on Y Records - a sound unlike any other. Shriekback came back to play a number of times after and Carl and Patty soon became quite enamored. After Shriekback broke up, Patty left ABC to go to England because Carl asked her to marry him...they were very, very happy together. Of course Patty loved a good steak and Carl was a vegetarian (once had a Coke and spit it out) and they had a lovely home for a while. He'd cook wonderful dinners for her, they'd work on music together, he had an album in the works but in the end they just didn't work out. Carl had a leftover, clingy girlfriend, from what I heard, and didn't exactly seperate (ahem) from her or other 'girlies' as he'd call them - and broke Patty's heart. We'd all had good times together in NYC, haveing dinner together, going bowling, seeing movies or bands but eventually Carl departed at the end of one month leaving Patty with rent, utility bills, etc. We had to almost physically convince her to keep his fax machine because he owed her so much $$ - she was such a weirdly honest person at times. But Patty pulled it together, got a really big job at MCA Records promoting bands or something - working with the President of this or that. I used to visit her for lunch or we'd go out for drinks to Irish bars in midtown Manhattan after work - we still stayed friends throughout the years - New Years Eve together, bowling, movies, trips to the beach, etc. It took a lot to get her in my 74 VW Super Beetle - she was the original backseat driver -'It's my car, I'll do the driving.....Shu-shu-shu-shu-Shut Up!' was OH so true but, in all honesty,- she really did know a lot about car safety, driving techniques, and such...though I never did ACTUALLY see her behind the wheel of a car.... She remained my very best friend since I first met her when she showed up to join the band. Her favorite dog was Riley, she used to have a boyfriend in Texas, or Cleveland, or somewhere who taught her how to hot wire cars, she once waitressed (Yes, true) at a bowling alley, she believed in ghosts, had truly the most beautiful skin of any women I've seen (except for my wife)and she was the most hilarious, emotionally volitile, lovelorn, sweet, passionate and beautiful person I've ever known. When she got cancer a spirit rose from within to fight like hell and she was determined to beat it. It all started when she kept having nagging back aches. I'd always hated seeing her working so damn hard and late at ABC or MCA, never going out for lunch enough, smoking all the time, having drinks - too many some times, not enough others, and working like a devil to help bands understand the business side of music as well as the artistic side. She always pooh poohed the impact of the Waitresses but kinda knew as well that they'd had a great thing. I would always tell her how my friends who listened to above ground music and others who listening to nothing but the under stuff, ALL loved The Waitresses. Before and then later when she was dying for certain, my sister kept coming back and forth a lot from Omaha to see her (they'd been roommates in the early days - our Mother and Patty's most beloved Grandfather had both died around the same time) and we all spent time with her. Friends from MCA, ABC, music friends and others all came around to help Patty, to bring her food, we took her to chemotherapy treatments, bought her more food, yeah, she still kept smoking, dammit!, and we all just enjoyed the time we had with her. She was even beautiful in death. She was truly, and I mean this independent of being a close friend, a sweet loving person who always had a smile ready or on her lips and her laugh, a toss off 'ha-ha' that was full of smirk, is one that to this day I still use, making it mine, because of the joy and amusement in its sound. Patty Donahue was the Waitresses - she was getting smarter and looking up those hard words!

Sorry for the horrendously long entry above - I just wanted to share some real life moments about Patty and The Waitresses. I also wanted to let anyone know who may be interested that I have a CDR copy of The Waitresses from The Peppermint Lounge on New Years Eve, 12/31/83 available on Ebay (www.ebay.com) along with a Best of The Waitresses CD. Look it up under auction item # 161906486. I feel a little starnge 'promoting' this item I have for sale on Ebay but if any fans out there would like to trade with me for concert recordings of the band, I'd be happier to do that. I have seven shows from April 1982 until April 1984, some I recorded, others from radio broadcasts. I make CDR copies from the original cassette masters. I liked the King Biscuit release but it just wasn't real enough for me. Feel free to email with any questions.

I remember hearing them for the first time in the 80s when they did the song Square Pegs for the Square Pegs TV Show. I am blessed to have a CD with Christmas Wrapping on it! I love the lyrics to Pussy Strut! Blunt, to the point, and so very, very true!! Sad about Patty Donahue.....no one can take her place on lead vocals. Cool site. I will come back! Thanks!

Very nice web site; obviously a labor of love and respect. Unfortunately, my first visit has been an unhappy one. I had no idea Patty Donahue had passed away. She was a real talent and had a lot of stage presence. Did she ever get married? I hope she had a lot of friends around at the end. Anyway, thanks for bringing back some great memories and news, albeit sad in some respects.

Thanks for the lyrics to Christmas Wrapping. My husband and I had an affinity for this song - we were the best of friends when we first heard it in the *early* 80s and still were when he passed away this year at the age of 39. Every Christmas we competed for bragging rights over who heard it on the radio first. Thanks again.

Was quite disturbed when I first learnt of Patty's death.I was very surprised as it was very unexpected.I have a copy on video tape of The Waitresses them doing the song Square Pegs on an old 80's TV music show live but lipsynching to the song. The name of the show was called 'We're Dancing' hosted by a guy by the name of Townshend Coleman. The show took place & was filmed in some studio in New York City,& Townshend would have different New Wave acts on every day.It was a daily show back in 1982.And they had The Waitresses on their. After the song was finished kids in the audience who danced to the music on the show asked Patty some interesting, but funny questions. This show not only had different artists on the show every day,but also showed great music videos too.I have Wall Of Voodoo as guests on the show too.I used to video tape these shows until they were taken off the air. A great site BTW.Continued success & good luck to you. Kenny.

I love the Waitresses and always thought they were underrated as a band here in the States. They deserved far more success than they received at the time of their existence in the early 80s. The reason I've come here today is that I've been hearing one of my favorite Christmas songs of all time 'Christmas Wrapping' all over the radio lately. It is that time of year!!!

I've loved The Waitresses for years, with their smart lyrics and offbeat tunes! I've finally taken a minute to track down their discograaphy, and am saddened to find that it's pretty breif. I've been slowly wearing through an ancient cassette (that's been copied countless times to keep it from being lost forever) of Wasn't Tomorrow Wonderful, and Squeeze tunes as filler at the end! You can often find me zipping down the freeway belting out Waitress tunes (thanks for the lyrics section, by the way- now I know the lyrics to the title track are -Get tough, don't be so patient Get smart, head up, shoulders straight- instead of -Get tough, don't be so patient, Get smart, then show restraint-! The album is always like a little battery that recharges me, and after a listen (and sing-along-fest), I always feel like I can take on the world!!! I was saddened to read about the band's break-up and the lead singer's death. But I will treasure the band's music as a little, personal fountain of energy and zest for the struggles life demands! Thanks for all the work on the website! It's made my day!

Thanks for putting together an informative site devoted to a great band. I was always amazed by Chris Butler's ability to write songs in a female persona. He also had his finger on the pulse of a lot of important social trends. Redland is a song that so completely captures the political indifference in America that it is at once both funny and scary.

Thanks. The Waitresses were and still are one of my all-time fave bands, and you have plugged a void in the web with your site. It was the combination of great hooks, terrific musicianship and clever-but-stupid lyrics that made an powerful impact on me, and influenced my own band, the Zentones, considerably, although not exclusively. For a weekend, a great job!

Sorry, But I used quotes in my last message. My wife , Ruthie Rosenfeld and I directed the video for_ I know what Boys like_. At the time, we were living in a loft in the DUMBO(down under the Manhattan Bridge underpass) area of brooklyn. Mars Williams moved into the loft next door and we proceeded to become good friends. It was Mars's customto have a cup of coffee with us in the morning, typically he would stagger through the door, pour himself a cup and regale us with tales from the world of Mars. One Morning, after what was aparrently an interesting night before, Mars said I offered to produce it . Polygram gave us the go ahead and some tiny amount of money(Ithink we spent all of 4000 dollars)and we shot all the live action in less than a day. I was working on a documentary film called The Middletown Film project and we were just wrapping up the final edit. The timing could not have been better. One of the best editors in the business, Richard Howorth, Jjust happened to be sitting in the office next to me with a hot movieola and time on his hands. Ruthie had recently won an emmy for an opening she did for channel 13 in NY and we had just completed a commercial using cut paper and xerox for WPLJ in NY. Polygram, in trying to hedge their bets an cover their asses, contracted the live action through Ken Walz, Who was producing quite bit for MTV at the time. All we had to do was produce through post procuction and deliver the Music Video. We Edited and pulled scenes to animate....then we spent about a week in a caffeine driven frenzy of paper , crayons and glue.Thinking back on it, It was amazing that we pulled it off, So many things that could have gone wrong didn't, and the things that did go wrong either made no difference in the end or somehow worked to our advantage. The video turned out to be a big hit at the time, so much so that westarted getting offers from MTV to direct more stuff and design logos and the like. We won a clio award in 1984 for a commercial that we got from that connection! I got a call from POP-UP-VIDEO today asking about the shoot. I haven't stopped smiling all day! Thanks for all the memories. EJ McCarthy

Long time waitresses fan. Message posted on: 20/06/2000 00:07:52 by David J. Lindgren of San Diego  USA E-mail
The firest time I ever heard the waitresses was in 1981 when I was living in Hanau, Germany. MTV was brand new then and one day when I was watching the show there I saw this band called the Waitresses and thought the song 'I Know What Boys Like' was so provacativly cool. I also thought they were the best part of the show 'Square Pegs'. I bought the cassette imediatly and wore it out listening to it. Recently I bought the 'Best Of' compilation and 17 years later still think they were a clever band. What a shame about Patty. I'm bummed.

I was just curious about the waitresses because I know now that Bouncing Souls did a cover of [I know what boys like]. For an eighties band, they're pretty cool...heh. kat ____________________________ http://purr.cjb.net/

This sacred place you have created is a true blessing to those of us who's lives (as well as mental states) have been touched by this incredible band. I am a songwriter now, and I am certain that listening to the Waitresses songs, back in the day, had a major influence on how I currently put my songs together. How and when did Patty pass away? I'm so sorry to read that. Your friend, Stephen

I use to hear 'I know what boys like' during the 80s together with other hits during that period. It's a sexy song by a beautiful vocalist of The Waitresess. Even though she is gone, I'll never stop to like 'I Know What Boys Like' because the song does know what I like..
