| mate this is a great site for backgrond material on a great band. I remember the waitresses" from the top 40 "boys like.." song from the early 1980s. Looking at the recent and growing new wave (1977- 83) revival - with band like the killers, franz ferdinand, etc - the waitresses were a vastly underestimated pop "new wave" band- a la devo, reflecting the other side of the new wave genre. Listening to their material on the best of album confirms that wow, they (Chris Butler?) were amazingly clever songwriters and lyricists with great musical hooks. And to discover that they came out of the same time + town as Devo...and that there was a kent state connection ...What was it about Akron, Ohio that made these great bands?? | ||||||||

| thank you thank you thank you - waitresses songs still are the most empathetic, sane, eloquent songs out there. how do smart people stay happy? listening to the waitresses is a great start. fun and funny and completely addictive - two albums and an ep simply aren"t enough! but they"ll have to do for now.. | ||||||||

| The first Waitresses song I ever heard was "Christmas Wrapping", which was used on the show Gilmore Girls. I love the song "Wasn"t Tomorrow Wonderful" too! :) Both songs are great, they"re great, and the music used on Gilmore Girls was always great. | ||||||||

| I first heard "Christmas Wrapping" on the radio a few years ago. I didn"t know who it was by, and it wasn"t until last year when I bought a Christmas compilations cd that I found out it was the Waitresses. Since then I have wanted to know more and more about the band and I am so glad to have found this site. I love "Christmas Wrapping", it makes me really happy to hear it at Christmas. I am saddened at the fact that Patty is no longer with us, she was my age when she died. Now I have found this site I am going to listen and get to know more of the tracks so the Waitresses can live on in my heart. Thank you. | ||||||||

| I just watched The Waitresses Live at Hurrah"s! I used to frequent that club, but saw them at the Bottom Line and another time in Jersey. Not sure where. Oh, I also saw Tin Huey. Chris B was in that band also. It"s great to relive the times! | ||||||||
